I procrastinate

Don't we all?

Looking at the life of a student, I find that it isn't nearly as hectic as we make it seem. Most of the time, we're given sufficient time to complete assignments, read the next chapter in preparation for the coming tutorial, hand in that letter to the office, buy some stuff for this project, photostat notes for reference..and many other things. If only we were motivated enough to do the things we have to do, when we're supposed to do it, life wouldn't really be that umanagable.

Sometimes we feel as if 24 hours in a day isn't merely enough to fulfil our daily rituals. If we had 25 hours, we'd ask for 26, then we'd ask for 27, and the demand for more time would just go on and on to no end. We were given 24 hours a day, and a mind to figure out how to fit everything we have to do in those 24 hours.

Two weeks before the exams and you'd still see students prancing around the university, happy as ever and going on their way as if the day would never end. Having supper till 2 in the morning and even waking up at 4 in the morning for a bowl of curry wan tan mee! And then there's one week left before the dreaded exam period. That's when you see those same happy students glued to their books way up till the wee hours of the morning.

You can tell the exams are here when:

1) Facebook status updates get emo

  "Shoot me please"
  "Kill me now"
  "I need coffee"
  *bangs head on wall*

and the ever famous

"I am soooo tiirrrreeddd"

2) The coffee shop gets emptier during the night. For 3rd collegers, it would be Sahur.

3) The lights in the hostel rooms don't go off.

4) Purchase of junk food and maggi mee go up. (Go ask the shop aunty/uncle)

5) Coffee suddenly becomes everyone's favourite drink.

If only we'd learn to manage our time properly, then we wouldn't have to bang our heads on the wall (or whatever surface hard enough) quite as much. Students should really learn to prioritise. But then again, where's the fun in that? ;) Perhaps, procrastinating is all part of what makes us students.
